The Nichols Behavior Checklist (NBC) is a universal behavior screening tool that yields an individualized report with recommendations to help you understand the behaviors and emotions of your students. The NBC is Internet based and may be used district wide for data analysis.

The Nichols Behavior Checklist (NBC) is a RTI Level 1 tool. The NBC reports about school functioning,interpersonal relationships, behavior, emotional concerns, and social maladjustment. The NBC helps intervention teams identify areas of behavioral concerns. The NBC also provides clinicians with basic information needed for intervention or additional assessment.

Why is the Nichols Behavior Checklist useful? The NBC has been used by educators for overten years. Regular education teachers can use the NBC without the assistance of a school psychologistor counselor. The NBC becomes an important part of monitoring progress in the RTI process.

Who can use the Nichols Behavior Checklist? Anyone who knows the student well can complete this scale. No formal training is required.
